Organic coffee

At Copenhagen Coffee Lab, you'll find top-quality organic coffee – roasted with care in our own roastery in Copenhagen. We offer a selection of organic coffee beans that both taste great and are grown with respect for nature and people. We roast coffee beans for either espresso or filter coffee. Choose between whole beans or ground organic coffee - always freshly roasted and with fast delivery.

What is organic coffee?

Organic coffee is coffee that has been grown without synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers, or GMOs. This means the plants are allowed to grow naturally, which protects both the environment and workers from harmful substances. Organic coffee is grown with respect for biodiversity, soil health, and local communities.

To bear organic certification, the entire supply chain must meet strict requirements – from the coffee farm all the way to the roastery. This ensures transparency, accountability, and a clean, natural taste in your cup. At Copenhagen Coffee Lab, we select organic coffee beans from producers we trust – and who share our values of quality and sustainability.

Organic coffee beans - whole and ground

We have carefully curated a selection of organic coffee, so you can find the perfect bean - whether you prefer to grind your own or want coffee that is ground and ready to use.

Light roasted organic coffee beans are perfect for filter coffee and pour-over methods. They highlight the coffee's acidity and fruity notes - and provide a fresh and lively cup.

Try, for example, our Baragwi - a Kenyan filter coffee with fruity notes. Or our Almibar from Colombia with notes of maple syrup, toasted almonds, and dried apple.

Why choose organic coffee?

There are many good reasons to choose organic coffee:

  • Environmentally friendly cultivation: Organic farming supports soil health and biodiversity.
  • Social responsibility: Many organic farms prioritize fair working conditions.
  • Clean and natural taste: Without chemicals, the beans can fully develop their potential.
No pesticides: Organic coffee is free from harmful residues.

By choosing organic coffee, you support a more sustainable future - and enjoy a cup with better taste and peace of mind.

Coffee for all brew methods

Whether you're brewing espresso with an espresso machine or filter coffee with a French press, drip machine, or AeroPress , we have organic coffee beans to suit your needs. When you order, you can choose the grind size that fits your equipment - or choose whole beans if you prefer to grind them yourself.

We usually ship within 1-2 business days. Orders are delivered via GLS.

Which coffee is best for my brewing method?

That depends on how you brew. Espresso machines work best with darker roasts, while drip and French press methods pair well with lighter roasts. Check out our brew guide for more tips.

Do you sell whole beans or ground coffee?

Both. You can choose whole beans or select "Ground" on the product page before adding the product to your cart. You can also find our Ground coffee here.

Is your coffee organic?

Yes, we offer a selection of organic coffee and many of our products are also Fairtrade certified.

What roasting style do you use?

Drawing on our many years of experience in the field, our roasters profile each batch according to its terroir, processing method, and brewing method, ensuring precise development of each batch so that no discovery of the roasting process can ever distract you from the true taste experience of the coffee. Together with our extensive daily quality control, this allows for dynamic and progressive roast profiling and a consistent product regardless of quantity.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship to 25 European countries. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. You can read more about delivery and prices here. If you have any special delivery requests, please let us know.

How long do you recommend I use the coffee for?

If your bag remains unopened, the coffee will still taste fine for many months after roasting. Coffee deteriorates as it ages and loses some of its vibrancy. Remember to reseal the bag or use an alternative airtight container.

Resting time is an important aspect of coffee brewing, so be sure to experiment to find out how long you should wait after the roast date. For espresso, we recommend between 1 and 2 weeks of rest; for filter coffee, we can recommend a shorter rest period.
