Head barista in Copenhagen
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
As Head Barista, you are responsible for ensuring high quality in every coffee experience. The role combines operational management with training, quality control, development of coffee programmes, and more. All of this is done to ensure consistency, a high professional standard, and a strong guest experience.
The Head Barista at Copenhagen Coffee Lab will serve as a coffee specialist and support both café managers and baristas in the daily operation.
Coffee Quality Assurance
- Ensure consistent quality across all coffee products
- Observe and monitor espresso extraction, recipes, and brewing standards
- Calibrate coffee machines and grinders on a daily/weekly basis
- Ensure correct handling and storage of coffee products
- Work with taste assurance and quality control
Training and Development
- Train new employees in coffee production and service
- Develop training materials and SOPs
- Conduct workshops and ongoing training
- Coach teams in latte art, brewing methods, and workflow
Operations and Operational Support
- Support the cafés in daily operations and during busy periods
- Optimise workflow behind the bar
- Ensure correct maintenance of equipment
- Coordinate service and repairs of coffee machines
Product Development
- Contribute to the development of new beverages
- Test seasonal products
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams
Working Conditions
- Work across multiple locations may occur
- Morning, weekend, and public holiday work may occur
- May include participation in events and training outside normal working hours
Who Are You?
- You have experience from the coffee industry, preferably with management experience
- You possess the ability to teach and share knowledge
- You have an eye for detail and high quality
- You are available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
