Junior Roaster & Production Assistant

Location: Copenhagen, Danmark (Bådehavnsgade 44F, 2450 Sydhavnen)

We are currently looking for a Junior Roaster and Production Assistant to join our team in Sydhavn!

Copenhagen Coffee Lab is a speciality coffee roastery, wholesaler, cafe and bakery chain founded in Copenhagen in 2013. Since then, we have marked our presence in Denmark and throughout Europe with 40+ cafes and are ever-growing and progressing.

Our coffee roastery is located in Sydhavn, Copenhagen, complete with a cutting-edge production space and quality control area.
We work with a 70kg Loring Peregrine coffee roaster, and boast in-depth knowledge, skills and experience when roasting for the speciality market.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate roaster and production assistant. If you are a skilled, dedicated coffee professional who wants to learn, contribute and progress at the highest level, this position is for you.

 

Responsibilities:

* Roasting main production of our speciality coffee range for shops in Denmark and across Europe
* Overseeing and contributing to the overall operations post-roasting
* Supervising the coffee orders and web-shop, maintaining good communication with our delivery team
* Roasting coffee for external businesses
* Maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness within the roastery
* Monitor and analyse raw and roasted coffee quality
* Overseeing inventory
* Regular equipment maintenance including roaster, espresso machines, grinders and packing machines.
* Constantly striving to improve quality and efficiency within the work place.

 

Qualifications:

* Work experience in speciality coffee sector (i.e barista, shop manager, roaster)
* Knowledge of/or experience in coffee roasting
* Knowledge of/or experience in coffee cupping protocol
* Knowledge of/or experience with coffee as a food product and how it is produced
* Knowledge of/or experience with coffee extraction in different brewing contexts
* Desire and drive to learn and develop as a coffee professional
* Driven to improve and develop your quality assessment skill-set
* Good knowledge of the speciality coffee industry
* Willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic work environment
* Capable of handling heavy machinery, including coffee roasters, packing machines and pallet trucks
* Great concentration skills and abilities in problem solving for solutions during coffee production
* Good knowledge of general arithmetic
* Good general computer skills
